Writing: Coke Concussion
This week in writing we have been writing about a coke and Mentos experiment. I really enjoyed it because watching the explosion made me feel like I had just seen a real geyser.

Reading: Night on the Reef Summary
This week we are reading a text called “Night on the Reef.” This text is about a young boy who lived in Savai’i. The boy’s family was very poor and hardly had anything to eat except for a banana plantation and fish from the sea. The boy’s father went fishing on the reef at night and the boy’s job was to sell the fish in the morning. One night the boy went fishing on the reef with his father. A storm whipped up and waves splashed over the boy over and over. He tried to call for help but it was no use until his father heard him and threw him on his back. The father swam quickly over the waves and they settled on a big rock to rest. Then the boy’s father prayed to find the canoe. Just after he prayed the canoe was there. They had lots of bruises and cuts but they were safe.
